A Church Wedding With a Storybook Feeling

Trudy and Byron’s wedding day had the kind of warmth that makes a small celebration feel deeply personal. Their ceremony took place at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Rolly View, a peaceful country church in Leduc County with soft light, a red aisle, and the kind of intimate atmosphere that suited them beautifully.

After the ceremony, we continued into Leduc for portraits at Stone Barn Garden and Cultural Village. It gave the day that quaint English village feeling they had hoped for — stone textures, garden paths, wooden structures, and quiet corners that made their portraits feel relaxed, romantic, and timeless.

One of our favourite little moments came during the ceremony, when the pastor mentioned that in 42 years of weddings, this was the first time he had worked with the same photographers two weddings in a row. The week before, we had photographed another wedding with him at a private acreage in Sherwood Park, so hearing that connection mentioned during Trudy and Byron’s ceremony made the day feel even more memorable.
